The AEMC PowerPad III Model 8336 is a professional, high-performance three-phase power quality analyzer engineered for comprehensive diagnostic, compliance, and energy auditing tasks on single-phase, split-phase, and three-phase electrical distribution networks. Equipped with five voltage input channels and four current input channels, the Model 8336 enables simultaneous, continuous True-RMS monitoring of all phase conductors, neutral lines, and ground references. Designed to meet IEC 61000-4-30 Class B performance standards and rated for 1000 V CAT III and 600 V CAT IV installations, this rugged handheld instrument provides plant maintenance engineers, facility managers, and electrical contractors with the precision needed to resolve complex electrical anomalies and prevent critical downtime. Operating with a high-speed synchronous sampling rate of 256 samples per cycle (12.8 kHz at 50 Hz / 15.36 kHz at 60 Hz), the Model 8336 captures dynamic power fluctuations, transients down to 65 microseconds, and motor starting inrush currents lasting over 10 minutes. The analyzer continuously calculates and displays vital power quality metrics in real time, including active (W), reactive (var), and apparent (VA) power, power factor (PF), displacement power factor (DPF), crest factor, phase unbalance, and flicker (Pst and Plt). Additionally, it delivers advanced harmonic evaluations up to the 50th order for both voltage and current channels, displaying harmonic magnitude, percentage, phase direction, and sequence components directly on its full-color 1/4-VGA graphic LCD. It incorporates 2 GB of internal flash memory dedicated to storing continuous trend data, alongside independent memory reserves for up to 210 transient captures, 40 programmable alarm types (storing up to 16,000 alarm events), and 50 full-screen snapshots. With its integrated rechargeable NiMH battery pack delivering over 13 hours of continuous display-on battery life (and up to 25 hours during display-off logging), the Model 8336 connects via an optically isolated USB port to AEMC DataView software for automated EN 50160 compliance reporting, real-time waveform streaming, and in-depth analytical evaluations.
