Chauvin Arnoux CA 1727 [P01174830] Mechanical Tachometer, 60 to 100,000 rpm. Capable of measuring RPM either via the use of non-contact infrared or via direct contact with a motor or other rotating piece of machinery, Chauvin Arnoux's CA1727 is an accurate, portable solution for measuring overall RPM. The non-contact measurement mode of the CA1727 makes it easier to carry out measurement safely as no contact has to be made to rotating parts. This function requires the use of a reflective strip in order to operated; the strip reflects the infrared beam from the tester and the CA1727 reads the overall RPM by measuring the reflected infrared light that is detected by the optical sensor. The sensor is also specially adapted to avoid interference with lack of light or external interference. The contact measurement mode of this tachometer converts the rotation speed of a device into pulses which are measured by the CA1727. This requires the use of a mechanical adapter which can be used with a three end fitting of cylinder/cone to measure rotation speeds at the end of a drive shaft and a calibrated wheel for use on linear speeds. The CA1727 is actually an upgraded version of the CA1725 and includes unique features not found on the other device. The main inclusion on this product is the ability of the CA1727 to interface directly with a PC and TACHOGRAPH software to manage the data obtained using this tachometer.
