Saleae Logic Pro 16-R USB Logic Analyzer - Red

The Saleae logic pro 16 is probably the best USB-based logic analyzer at this price point. 100 MS/sec sample rate at 100 MHz bandwidth is more than enough for all but the most demanding use cases. Since it's USB-based, sample memory is only limited by your computer's available RAM. The Pro version has a USB3 interface, which enables a much higher sample rate as compared to other analyzers.

The software is where the Saleae really shines, though. It's simple to setup, has plenty of triggering options, and is intuitive to navigate. It even has a screen capture feature that allows you to capture the whole screen, or just a region you can drag out.

The analyzer itself comes in a machined aluminum case that has an appreciable weight to it. The general consensus among the test equipment community is that if you need a logic analyzer, but don't want to spend the money on a mixed-signal oscilloscope or a high-end dedicated unit, the Saleae is the best bang for your buck.

One thing I don't really like though. It seems to have a proprietary USB connector (or at least one I haven't seen before), which means you must you Saleae's cable. If it is ever damaged, you can't use any 'ol USB3 cable; you have to get Saleae's.
