The Crowcon T4 is a portable detector for up to four gases. Flammable gas, oxygen depletion, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide can all be monitored simultaneously. Three or two gas models are also available. The combustible sensor targeting methane has enhanced sensitivity for pentane, hexane and other long-chain hydrocarbons.
A unique T4 feature is the TWA resume button, where the long-term exposure limit of a worker is calculated over eight hours. By pressing the resume button, the detector will continue calculating the time weight average over the entire eight-hour shift period, including the time before switching off. With other detectors switching off and on again assumes the start of a new shift, potentially underestimating exposure. Battery life is 18 hours, enabling multiple shifts or extended shifts without recharging.
Designed to be tough, drop-tested on concrete to 4 metres. Operation is by a single button, use is possible wearing gloves, and an intuitive menu system makes the T4 simple. Visual monitor status is indicated to all by LEDs. Green indicates working correctly and red/blue for alarm or action needed. T4 also includes 95dB audible and vibrating alarms permitting use in noisy environments.
