Chauvin Arnoux CA 6550 [P01139715] 500V / 1000V / 2500V / 5000V / 10000V Insulation Tester. Chauvin Arnoux's CA6500 range of megohmmeters are purpose-built for testing on high voltage applications such as transformers, cables, rotating machinery and more. This device uses test voltages of 500V, 1000V, 2500V, 5000V and 10000V, giving this device the ability to measure resistance levels across five ranges. These ranges are: 500V: 10 kΩ to 2 TΩ; 1,000V: 10 kΩ to 4 TΩ; 2,500V: 10 kΩ to 10 TΩ; 5,000V: 10 kΩ to 15 TΩ; 10,000V: 10 kΩ to 25 TΩ. The test voltage used can be either a fixed value as defined above, or alternatively can be user adjusted between a range of 40 to 10000V with 3 presettable voltage values. Voltage can then be increased in increments of 40-10kV steps. As well as insulation resistance measurements this megohmmeter can also be used to carry out voltage measurements from 0 to 2500V AC and 0 to 4000V DC, capacitance from 0.001 to 9.999μF and 10.00-49.99μF and leakage current measurements from 0-8mA. Once testing is completed, the tester will automatically discharge itself to maintain accuracy. Since overall reduction in insulation integrity can result in incorrect readings, the CA6550 also includes the ability to carry out PI, DAR and DD quality ratio testing and can also calculate reference temperatures. This tester comes as standard built into its own protective carrying case with large LCD graphical screen. It also has built-in memory, allowing it to store and download a significant amount of testing data. The CA6550 runs on rechargeable batteries and is CAT IV 1000V rated and compliant with IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61557.
