The AEMC Model MN251T (2132.59) is a compact, high-accuracy AC current probe engineered for measuring alternating currents up to 240 A (200 A nominal) across tight electrical enclosures, crowded cable raceways, and branch circuit panels. Designed with an ergonomic "clothespin" jaw geometry, the MN251T allows technicians to safely hook around conductors up to 0.78 inches (20 mm) in diameter or 250 MCM cables where conventional bulky clamp-on meters cannot access. Terminated with an integrated 10-foot (3 m) shielded coaxial lead and an insulated male BNC connector, it connects directly into portable oscilloscopes (such as the OX 5042 and SCOPIX series), waveform recorders, power analyzers, and data acquisition hardware. Delivering a proportional voltage output of 1 mV AC per 1 A AC (200 mV output at 200 A), the MN251T provides direct 1:1 scale conversion on instruments configured with millivolt or voltage input ranges. Its precision magnetic core architecture ensures exceptional linearity across a dynamic measurement range from 0.05 A up to 240 A, accompanied by a flat frequency response from 40 Hz to 10 kHz. This wide bandwidth and low phase shift make the probe particularly effective for evaluating true-RMS current waveforms, capturing inrush transients, and analyzing harmonic distortion profiles on motor circuits and power distribution networks. Engineered to comply with stringent international electrical safety standards, the Model MN251T is rated for 600 V CAT III installations in accordance with IEC/EN 61010-1 and IEC/EN 61010-2-032. The probe body is molded from high-impact, UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant industrial polycarbonate, incorporating a tactile safety barrier flange that prevents accidental operator contact with energized conductors.
