The AEMC Model MH60 (2153.03) is a wideband, high-frequency clamp-on current probe utilizing Hall effect transducer technology to measure alternating, direct, and complex composite (AC+DC) currents up to 100 A continuous (140 A peak). Designed primarily for use with portable oscilloscopes (including the AEMC Handscope and SCOPIX IV series), benchtop scopes, spectrum analyzers, and waveform recording instruments, the MH60 provides a direct BNC interface to capture high-speed current dynamics without interrupting or disconnecting the circuit under test. Featuring a broad frequency response from DC up to 1 MHz and a nominal sensitivity output of 10 mV/A, the MH60 accurately reproduces fast rise-time pulses, high-frequency switching transients, and complex distorted wave shapes common in modern power conversion equipment. The probe incorporates an automatic DC zero adjustment system that compensates for residual core magnetization and the earth's ambient magnetic field with a single push-button press. Furthermore, selectable filter settings allow technicians to attenuate high-frequency noise when focusing specifically on low-frequency power fundamentals or DC bias levels. Engineered for field versatility and laboratory accuracy, the Model MH60 features an internal rechargeable NiMH battery pack delivering up to 8 hours of continuous field operation, along with a standard micro-USB interface that provides continuous mains-powered operation and simultaneous internal battery charging. The probe is built to comply with international electrical safety standards, rated for 600 V CAT II and 300 V CAT III environments per IEC/EN 61010-1 and IEC/EN 61010-2-032. Its compact jaw geometry accommodates conductors up to 1.02 inches (26 mm) in diameter, making it an indispensable diagnostic tool for power electronics engineers, drive commissioning technicians, and plant maintenance specialists.
