The AEMC Model 407 (2139.51) is a professional, high-performance True-RMS AC/DC power clamp-on meter engineered for comprehensive electrical diagnostics, power quality troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance across demanding industrial environments. Equipped with a large 1.89-inch (48 mm) jaw opening, this meter easily accommodates large electrical cables, multi-conductor bundles, and busbars up to 1000 V CAT IV and 1000 V CAT III. It provides safety-rated measurements of voltage up to 1000 VAC/DC, alternating current up to 1000 A AC, and direct current up to 1500 A DC, making it an indispensable tool for heavy commercial facilities, electrical utilities, and renewable energy installations. Operating with a fast 10,000-count blue electroluminescent backlit display, the Model 407 incorporates advanced digital sampling to perform comprehensive electrical power analysis. It simultaneously evaluates active (W), reactive (var), and apparent (VA) power, power factor (PF), displacement power factor (DPF), crest factor, and individual harmonic distortion up to the 25th order. The instrument features AEMC's proprietary True InRush technology, which captures and digitizes dynamic motor starting currents and load surges over a 100 ms acquisition window—filtering out steady-state current variations to provide accurate inrush profiles for motor drives and heavy equipment. Engineered with built-in Bluetooth Class 2 connectivity, the Model 407 enables wireless communication with Android mobile devices and Windows PCs running the included AEMC DataView software suite. Technicians can view live telemetry, stream real-time trend graphs, capture screenshots, and export standardized test reports from a safe distance outside arc-flash boundaries. Housed in a rugged, double-molded IP54 casing designed to withstand 2-meter drops, the Model 407 combines the functionality of a high-precision clamp meter, power analyzer, and data acquisition tool into an ergonomic handheld device.
