About Brand

Description

The AEMC Model 2118.46 (Model XM-BB) is an industrial-grade interface adapter designed to transition dual 4 mm shrouded safety banana plug connections into a standard male BNC connector. Built to support field diagnostics and data acquisition workflows, this adapter allows high-precision current probes, AmpFlex sensors, and test leads terminating in 4 mm banana plugs to interface directly with BNC-equipped instruments such as oscilloscopes, waveform recorders, and select data loggers (including AEMC Simple Logger II and Models K100/K110). Engineered to operate in high-energy industrial electrical environments, the Model 2118.46 carries an electrical safety classification rated for 600 V CAT III in compliance with IEC/EN 61010-031 standards. The fully insulated, high-dielectric molded thermoplastic body shields the metallic core from accidental contact, flashover, or unintended ground loops. Internally, low-resistance contacts and balanced transmission paths preserve signal integrity, ensuring accurate millivolt-level transfer of current waveforms, transients, and AC/DC signals without introduced noise or impedance distortion. Featuring standard 3/4-inch (19 mm) center-to-center female banana jack spacing, the adapter accepts both standard shrouded and unshrouded 4 mm safety plugs. The male BNC termination incorporates a bayonet locking collar that couples securely to instrument front panels, resisting physical dislodgement from cable tension or heavy field vibration. Compact and mechanically robust, the Model 2118.46 is a standard accessory for electrical engineers, plant maintenance technicians, and energy auditors requiring safe signal conversion between modular banana leads and coaxial BNC test equipment.
