Apollo The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester has updates firmware compared to the old Apollo 400 model which has introduced a search function to the database as well as an improved user interface. There is now also an external rechargeable battery pack that allows the battery to be changed in the field so there is no need to wait for the tester to charge.

Seaward's own Apollo 400+ statement "We've given ourselves a PAT on the back" may not be one of humility but actually we couldn't agree more. The Seaward Apollo 400+ is truly a unique PAT instrument that sits unparalleled as a battery powered and truly portable and downloading PAT tester at its price point. It now features all-new firmware and an external battery pack thanks to a comprehensive upgrade.

With straight-forward and fast PAT testing, storage for up to 2000 appliance records and 25 inbuilt auto sequence test (of which one is user editable), the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester is perfect for those seeking a versatile, quick, no-nonsense PAT instrument without unwanted bells and whistles.

With its onboard QWERTY keypad for quick appliance data entry, the Seaward Apollo 400 PAT Tester is ideal for mid-volume PAT testing, where speed and detailed records are vital. The Apollo 400+ is also battery powered and very portable weighing just 1.5kg, ideal for use within work environments where testing takes place in-situ and thus requires a portable and lightweight solution while still capturing appliance data rapidly. Examples of this could include offices, shops and schools.

The Apollo 400+ PAT Tester provides a large colour display and an intuitive menu system to ensure ease of use. It also offers both battery and mains power modes, allowing you to spend more time testing, not waiting for batteries to recharge.

As well as providing a range of useful features - including remote data transfer from site to office - the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester also links via Bluetooth with Seaward PAT label printers and barcode scanners for a more comprehensive yet portable PAT setup. The Apollo 400+ is compatible and downloads into Seaward PATGuard 3 software for PAT data storate and generating professional PAT certificates and registers.

Offering a comprehensive range of electrical safety tests to ensure compliance with the IET 4th Edition Code of Practice, the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester is suitable for any workplace appliance (including 3-phase equipment, fixed appliances and RCDs).

The Seaward Apollo 400+ is capable of low current earth continuity tests, point to point testing (earth continuity and insulation resistance), Apollo 400+ also offers IEC lead tests as well as protective conductor current, touch current, load power/current, alternative leakage current, RCD and power socket tests.

Supplied with a UKAS calibration certificate and a 2 year warranty the Apollo 400+ really is a gamechanger; a battery powered and downloadable PAT tester with a vast range of features and accessories available at the price point of a non-downloading PAT tester. A PAT on the back indeed!

The Seaward Apollo 400+ boasts several improvements when compared to the previous Seaward Apollo 400 model. Notably, it has an external rechargeable battery so the user will be able to change batteries out in the field rather than wait for the tester to charge up again, which should be particularly useful for professional PAT testing operatives with large workloads. A full firmware update will provide a better user experience when operating the tester through the interface as it will enable a search function in the internal memory and quicker navigation through results.
