The battery-operated colorimeter means tests can be run immediately without concern for sample preparation and handling, ensuring rapid testing and decision making.

Water quality parameters that can be tested include: acidity, alkalinity, ammonia, carbon dioxide, chlorine (free), chlorine (total), hardness, iron, manganese, nitrate, nitrite, phosphorus, sulfide/hydrogen sulfide, tannin, lignin, and zinc.
