Applied Instruments Signal Level Meters - CATV / CCTV / Satellite
CATV and Satellite Signal Level Meters are used to test the quality of TV and satellite signals. They are also called TV Meters, Field Strength Meters, and Satellite Finders. Signal level is measured over a specified frequency range and expressed typically as dBmV or dBm.

CCTV testers are similar but different; they test video signal from CCTV cameras and can control and test pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) for most modern cameras. These devices are primarily intended for installers and service technicians.

Signal level meters would be connected to the cable from the antenna or cable provider. The antenna can be located and adjusted based on the signal level and other problems diagnosed. CCTV testers connect to cameras via cables connected to video in/out ports on the units themselves.
